My Favorite Anthology Tv Series

As a horror fan I grew up watching some of the 90’s horror anthology T.V. series like Tales from The Crypt, Goosebumps or Are you afraid of the dark?, with the arrival of the internet and the DVDs I was able to watch a lot more T.V. series from different times with different qualities so after thinking for a while here are my favorites T.V. series:

10. Hammer House of Horror (1980)

A British high quality production, the show was pretty good and has such a cinematic look you almost believe it was a film rather than a T.V. Show, I like pretty much their horror gore scenes and aspects.

9. Thriller (1960)

Hosted by the legendary Boris Karloff the show started with pretty similar episodes to those from The Twilight Zone but evolved into a darker, scarier show.

8. Goosebumps (1992)

A show aimed at kids and teenagers but with interesting stories and a lot of their endings having Twists which really surprised the audience were enough reasons to make into my list.

7. The Hitchhiker (1983)

Page Fletcher hosted and reflected to the audiences about the weakness of humans, those weaknesses leaded the characters into their fates, most of the time tragic ones that get into the mind of the viewers.

6. Are you afraid of the dark?

90s kids like me will find this one a real horror T.V. classic, even though most of stories were not the great ones and the show was not that scary or had any elements of gore, Its intro and the popularity contributes to the legacy of the show.

5. Night Gallery (1970)

While some see this as a continuation of The Twilight Zone it is not, Night Gallery was mostly focused on real scary, horror stories, not really focused on social fears, but those horror stories were actually scarier than those from The Twilight Zone,

4. Outer Limits

Fantastic, scary and terrific mix between Science Fiction and horror, The Outer Limits was for those Science Fiction fans a show were those scientific nightmares came to live. Let all remember that one of those young fan years later will have a nightmare inspired by the show that would become the basis for Terminator.

3. Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1955)

The Master of Suspense with all his sense of humour make a really entertaining T.V. Show where most of the episodes were stories full of suspense that most of us could considerate them true as any of them featured supernatural elements like most of Alfred Hitchcock films.

2. Tales from The Crypt (1989)

A funny T.V. Show with a funnier host, while not all of their stories are pieces of art, they were enough to keep us watching through the 30 minutes the episodes last, a real good homage to the comics.

1. The Twilight Zone

Simply the most influential and greatest Anthology T.V. series of all time, with Rod Serling in fantastic role of writer, producer and host, the show was a medium for the American people to express their fears in the postwar country that was living the dream.
